Ashprihanal is exceeding most everyone’s expectations as the first two weeks came to a close, as he is averaging 72.6 miles per day, thanks to a sterling 75.18 miles today. His 1000 mile split was indicative of his dominance of the race so far (1000 miles = 13 days+13:32:40). Vladimir Glazkov, the ageless wonder, moved into second with a 69.14 mile effort. Arpan DeAngelo, a local resident, led the mileage honors for the day with 65.85 miles, moving into fifth position. Ashprihanal Aalto had his lowest output of the race-62.56 miles -but still increased his lead over second place to 45 miles. The pleasant temps and lower humidity allowed for good mileage and pain-free running for much of the group. Ultra legend Ted Corbitt visited the race and was beseiged by the good wishes of all the runners. It was a great 'photo-moment' to be next to Ted with the cameras clicking. |
