Day 13  Ten of the 'Terrific12' made it past sixty miles. The weather cooperated, with average humidity, some breezes and later cloud cover. Temps never went past 80ºF. Four intrepid runners pushed past seventy miles. Messrs Atmavir Petr Spacil and Galya Balatskyy continued their elite consistency with each day over seventy miles. Vasu Duzhiy kept his modest streak of three days over 70 going, but the leader of the pack-Ashprihanal Aalto- again established his excellence with a 77.92 mile day. He topped 1000 miles again(12 days+17:19:40), his time placing on the all-time 1000 mile list at 8th best road performance ever, and 15th over all surfaces. He is averaging a sparkling 77.21 miles per day(124.26 km). Surasa Mairer has rebounded well from stomach issues to actually pass Kaneenika Janakova by three laps. Both women are creating a small but growing comfort zone of mileage as the race nears two weeks. The 'breaking in' period appears almost over. It is time to move along or step aside. Good luck to all runners testing themselves with challenges.
