Day 8, September 6-23

The very warm and inhuman weather today tried to slow everyone down, but the strong and remarkable runners continued their quest to challenge all things in front of them.  Whether it was distance to conquer, the stiff sidewalks to tread, the unless food and drink to be absorbed , and the need for the body to stop and relax when anything too long is more trouble to overcome.

93º to 95º temps all over the area around the slightly longer than half a mile, with traffic and trucks rolling by on the north side of the course- these things are just part of the distraction that is the                                         

3100 Mile Race.not to mention the course changes direction every day.

The Day 8  Race resulted in several runners continuing their best available efforts.. The overall leader Andrea Marcato reached  614.2 miles to extend his lead to nearly 50 miles over Tsai Wen-Ya who continued to lead the women with 564.8 miles. Wei-Ming Lo remained solid in third place, reaching 517.8 miles. Mahasatya Janczak held fouth place with 506.7 miles. Vasu Duzhiy and Adrian Papuc held fifth and sixth with 502 miles and inches apart from each other.  With one more hot day, the runners have nearly overcome the first test . We will see how they will shine- inside and outside.
