Temperatures and humidity were kind today, making for good running conditions. Things have settled slightly after the initial burst of energy on day one, and runners have started to settle into the race's routine. Italy's Andrea Marcato continues to set the pace, leading the way with another strong day of 81.2 miles.

  • Ananda-Lahari Zuscin, after a conservative opening day of 53.2 miles (85.6 kilometres) as he eased into the race, had one of his inspired days, covering more than 79.5 miles — the second-best distance of the day. In the cooler evening air he noticeably increased his pace.
  • Radu Budan just missed 70 miles for the day, recording 69.2. That moved him slightly ahead of Vasu Duzhiy, who ran a solid 67.4 miles.
  • Annabel Hepworth continues to set the pace among the women. After her opening 80 miles, she followed up with a more measured 63 to reach 143 miles.
  • Nina Huang-Lan Yang went one lap further on the day, with 63.6 miles.
  • Our third woman, Nayaja Perugini, recorded 62.5 miles.
  • Wei-Ming Lo, the oldest runner in this year's race at 62, had another solid day, easing himself further into the race with 63.6 miles.
  • Stutisheel Lebedev, drawing on the experience of ten 3,100-mile finishes, totalled 44 miles.

After today's excellent conditions, rain is forecast for tomorrow, bringing a fresh challenge for the runners.
