Galya finished just before midnight, but still there was a big crowd on hand. He had a stellar performance finishing second overall in 42 days:17 hours:39 min.:59 secs. This ranks him as third best time overall for the 3100 mile race. He was the only runner to reach at least 70 miles or more in every single day of the race.
