Fifty-seven year-old Taiwan runner Lo Wei-Ming finished the 25th Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence 3100 Mile Race today in stylish fashion, reaching the goal in 48 days+11:52:01. Mr Lo, who is an athletic icon back in Taiwan, expressed sincere gratitude to all that helped or supported him. He ran with such ability and talent, that he finished in second place overall, becoming the 50th person to ever complete the 3100 distance, and the first Asian to reach the goal. A crowd of over 200 people came to see the great runner fulfill his dreams to run the longest race. After Wei-Ming completed the extra laps to reach 5000km, he had a conference call with the Prime Minister of Taiwan and other officials. Three runners still await their chance to hear the bells in their honor.
