Day 18

No rain, yes!  It was sunny around noon. Cold at night, but more for the helpers, the runners did not feel too cold.

Ushika's remark on day 18 was: "the last day of the Kurukshetra Battle. Now a new phase starts for the runners."

And Ushika’s performance showed some progress. He is back into having again a small cushion of 3km. he had another great day with 101,2 km. As usual Ushika was with the last pack going home at midnight.

Nirbhasa was tired in the first half of the day but felt good when going home at 23:40 reaching 103,3 km. Having already a fantastic cushion of 125 km.

Andrea had another very good day with 72 Miles (115,8 km) although he had a difficult morning. He compensated the slow morning with a few very fast laps in the afternoon, which gave him muscle problems. But still he still reached his mileage goal. What an exceptional runner!

Ananda-Lahari is getting better. He reached 87,6 km at midnight and hopes he can soon run again. He always seems to be in a very spiritual, uplifted consciousness. One can very rarely see that he is suffering.

Milan had his worst day so far, covering 66,7 km. Unfortunately, his shin splint is in full bloom and bothering him a lot. He went home at 23:00. In the evening he got some relief by putting honey on the inflamed spot on his leg.

Tomorrow is another day. Let us hope all the runners dreams for day 19 come true!

The runners continue their search for more laps each day. Andrea Marcato is moving into the high rent district of super-long distance. He has reached over 70 miles in 13 of the 18 days passed, and has pocketed two national records along the way. Nirbhasa Magee is still moving well, and Ushika Muckenhumer, the pride of Salzburg, is again in the positive mileage domain. Everyone else is doing the best they can, and still on the track for close to 17 hours of each 18-hour running day.

Keep it moving fellows, you are our inspiration magnets
