The six remaining runners are carrying the heavy load of expectation, if not the combined feeling of- ‘when will this end’-syndrome. Yet, they are focused, and able to smile or joke, or accept the outer defeat of time. There is inner poise in all who endure the long races. It is not an ‘escape from the world’ that fuels the multi-day racer, but rather an exploration of both the inner and outer world. The athletes who attempt the 3100 might reach for the stars, but the discovery of who they are is by far the more valuable trait to be revealed.

Wei-Ming Lo passed 2900 miles and is focused on Saturday at 6:00 pm (18:00 hours) for his arrival at the finish line. The Taiwanese gentleman has really been a revelation throughout this race, and his dreams are to be reached, or revealed. 172+ miles remain before his journey will end. Carry on, runners- it is only a matter of time.
