It is six weeks into the 3100 Mile Race, and a change of places has not happened, but the singular greatness of Andrea Marcato has dominated the proceedings. Mr Marcato has his sights set on finishing Sunday before 12:00 midnight (24:00), placing him in the rarified air of Day 43. It will require 139 laps- 76.2832 miles / 122.7659km- in order to complete the race. He has a lead over second place of 346 miles. He went through the 3000 mile split nearly 19 hours faster than his victory in Salzburg in 2020.  He pushed through a two –hour rainstorm with changing winds, to make a solid 74.63 miles. Follow the webcam during the day today, for updates on his probable finish.

Takasumi Senoo made it past the 4000km and 2500 mile splits in personal best times. He has a slim but growing cushion of laps, and should finish on the last day.
