The temperature hovered in the low 90's, the humidity was thick, the breezes were scarce. The runners cautiously ran along today, very aware of the conditions, dialing back the effort to a manageable pace. Only four made it past 60 miles. Atmavir Petr Spacil and Ashprihanal Aalto both reached 68.05 miles, each man crafting plans all day to reached desired goals. Atmavir was pleased that his last lap of the day netted him 3000 km.

The women's race got hotter than the weather. Kaneenika Janakova ran 64.2 miles to inch up to Surasa Mairer. The veteran Austrian holds a delicate one lap lead over the ten years younger Miss Janakova. Surasa is still 55+ miles ahead of her pace from last year. Kaneenika is 105 miles ahead of her pace last year, in much cooler conditions. Stay tuned .....
