Andrea Marcato claimed the Day Leader moniker for another 24 hours, rippling out 72.4 miles. He has touched the 70 miles realm (112.7 km) for five straight days, and strengthened his lead to over  100 miles. In doing so, Mr Marcato went past the 2000km mark and eclipsed his own best from Salzburg in Austria by 68 minutes. Wei-Ming Lo and Stutisheel Lebedev clicked off 116 laps -63.66 miles/ 102.45 km to keep close to Mr Marcato, but the Italian’s last few hours this race are untouchable, as he utilizes nearly every second of each day. The rain stayed away tonight, as five runners went past the 60-mile barrier.
